Rio Ferdinand claims it is time for Spurs to ‘worry’ about 28-year-old’s performances

Rio Ferdinand has claimed that Harry Kane’s performances and lack of goals is a worry for Tottenham, and questioned whether Manchester City will reignite their interest in the striker.

Since his failed move to City in the summer, Kane has netted only once in the Premier League.

The striker has scored seven times in other competitions while he has also continued to bang the goals in for England but other strikers in the league are continuing to outperform the front man.

Conte insisted last week that he is not worried about Kane’s lack of goals and he has been pleased with the level of the England captain’s performances since his arrival.

However, the Spurs boss would not have been happy to see the striker fail to convert again in the 3-0 win to Norwich.

Ferdinand insisted that the Tottenham man does not look himself this season and predicted City might think twice before making another approach for him next summer.

The former Manchester United centre-back said on his vibe with FIVE podcast: “If he’s not performing and not scoring, you have to worry about the situation with Harry.

“I don’t think they’ll let him go in the January window. But in the summer, you’re thinking if he continues playing this way, not scoring the goals, do City even come back and try and take him?.

“This isn’t a Harry Kane we’ve grown to love.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I believe, in general, Kane’s performances since Conte’s arrival at Spurs have been excellent despite his lack of goals.

However, he did look short of confidence against Norwich and the longer his barren run goes on, the more it will start to play on the striker’s mind. So, hopefully, he finds his scoring boots sooner rather than later.
