Rio Ferdinand predicts the Champions League semi-finalists

Tottenham Hotspur will take a slight advantage into their Champions League quarter final away leg against Man City in two weeks time, after defeating the Premier League champions 1-0 at the new Spurs stadium.

Hugo Lloris saved an early penalty for the Lilywhites, and Heung Min Son smashed home a late goal to hand Tottenham a half-time lead in the tie.

A visit to the Etihad will surely involve a lot of defending for Tottenham, and they will be without star man Harry Kane after he picked up another ankle injury in the first leg.

If Tottenham do qualify for the semi-finals, it will be the first time the club has done so in their history.

They would then face either Ajax or Juventus in the next round, a tie that finished 1-1 after the Ajax home leg.

Rio Ferdinand has predicted who he believes will be the final four in this year’s competition.

He said (BT Sport – as quoted by HITC): “Liverpool, will go through. I think Spurs will go through after last night. Juventus will go through and my heart says Manchester United will go through.”
