Rio Ferdinand reveals Joe Hart raved about ‘unplayable’ Spurs star

Rio Ferdinand revealed that he managed to have quick exchange with Joe Hart during the second half of the Tottenham’s win over Wycombe and that goalkeeper raved about Tanguy Ndombele’s talent.

With the game poised at 1-1, Jose Mourinho decided to bring on Ndombele, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min around the hour mark, after already introducing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg during the interval.

The changes certainly worked as Spurs got a flurry of goals late on to win the game 4-1.

Ndombele was at his creative best when he came as he provided a cutting-edge to the Tottenham attack.

The midfielder also got on the scoresheet with two well-taken goals to put the icing on the cake for the away side within the dying minutes.

Ferdinand revealed that he had a chat with Hart about Ndombele when the goalkeeper was between the sticks while the match was unfolding.

The former Manchester United defender said on BT Sport’s post-match coverage: “I said how good is he (Ndombele) Joe and he said ‘Listen, this kid is a world-beater. He could be anything’. He just turned around during the game and said ‘this kid is unplayable’ and he is, he came on and the game immediately changed.

“He can draw people in one vs one, open the game up, beat a man and then play the right pass.”

Ferdinand also raved about Ndombele’s two late goals, insisting that the midfielder made the finishes look easier that they were.

He said: “This finish here (Ndombele’s first goal) was so nonchalant, it is frightening. Side foot, cut across it a bit and you see the ball spin the other way because he has cut across it. It is a beautiful strike but none with such nonchalance.

“Look at the skill here with the studs (for the midfielder’s second goal). Rolling the ball with his studs, on the move, double chop and bang. The two defenders have been put all over the place. One’s left the stadium, and he whips it near post. The keeper does not know where he is.

“This guy, in terms of individual brilliance, has shown why Jose Mourinho has persevered with him because his talent is endless”
