Rivals fans send their messages of well-wishes to injured Spurs star

While the crisis at Tottenham Hotspur has dominated the headlines following their 3-0 loss to Brighton on Saturday, another extremely concerning development in the game was the horrific injury picked by Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris in the early stages of the match.

Brighton played in a lofted cross into the box in just the third minute of the game and Lloris failed to deal with it sufficiently instead knocking it straight into the path of Neal Maupay thus allowing the home side to take the lead.

The Frenchman sustained a nasty injury as he landed and looked to be in considerable distress. Lloris had to be stretchered off with what looked like a broken hand and was replaced by Paulo Gazzaniga.

Thankfully, the club confirmed that Lloris hadn’t broken his arm but they did reveal that the Spurs skipper had sustained a dislocated elbow.

While the goalkeeping fraternity took to social media to wish to Spurs stopper the best, some opposition fans also joined Spurs fans in wishing Lloris a speedy recovery.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is a minor miracle that Lloris didn’t sustain a broken arm as the incident on Saturday certainly looked horrific. It looks like the Frenchman will be out for atleast a couple of months which is certainly a massive blow for Tottenham. While Paulo Gazzaniga has proved adept at playing out from the back, his shot stopping can be suspect on occasions.
