Robbie Keane - Tottenham Hotspur News

Robbie Keane admits that he is leaving Tottenham Hotspur this month but doesn’t know which club he’ll end up at.

The out of favour Spurs striker has been linked with a host of clubs including Celtic and Aston Villa but a deal has not yet materialised.

“It’s probably likely that I will be going but I can’t really answer where to at the moment,” Keane said.

“There’s obviously a lot of speculation but there’s still a couple of weeks to go and we’ll see what happens.

“I haven’t turned down anything. I think there’s a few people talking to the clubs but that’s all I can really say at the moment.

“I’m sure in the next couple of weeks it will be sorted out. It’s very unlikely anything will happen before the weekend.”

Asked if his preference was to stay in London, Keane said: “No, I’ll move.

“I don’t know why this story keeps coming out that I want to stay in London. I’ve never said that. I’m quite happy to go anywhere.

“For me, it’s just about playing regular football and if that’s outside London I’m not too bothered.”

  1. he never really got the chance. hes never truly been on the spotlight since playing for the spurs, he'd score some goals then he'd fade away.. he's a great player, owns great skills, realy sorry to hear that he's leaving

  2. Personally, the sooner he leaves the better all round because like it or not, he is surplus to requirements and a strain on the purse strings. He was a decent player when paired with Berbatov who took a lot of the attention away from Keane but he should never have been brought back to WHL with his tail between his legs in the first place, a lot of us though that Redknapp and Levy had made the wrong move in doing so at the time and so it has proven.
