Although Tottenham have done some terrific business this summer, some fans were left disappointed by the club’s failure to get the Paulo Dybala deal over the line.
Despite that Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that he is very happy with the squad he has been handed for the season (Football.London).
Robbie Savage has now offered his predictions of where each Premier League team will finish this season, and the former midfielder had Tottenham finishing in third place behind Manchester City and Liverpool.
While the 44-year-old said he expected the new signings to add some freshness to the squad, he insisted that Tottenham really needed to break their recent trophy draught if they wish to hang on to Mauricio Pochettino.
Savage wrote in the Mirror, “Tanguy Ndombele, Ryan Sessegnon and Giovani Lo Celso will give Spurs’ squad renewed freshness after becoming the club’s first signings since January 2018.
“But Wigan, Birmingham, and Swansea have all won a major trophy more recently than Tottenham – and the fear of losing head coach Mauricio Pochettino to Real Madrid won’t go away if that doesn’t change.”
Tottenham Hotspur will begin their new Premier League season with a home game against Aston Villa on Sunday, a game which they go into as heavy favourites.

Most pundits seem to be predicting a third-place finish for Tottenham which isn’t surprising considering how consistent Manchester City and Liverpool were last season. If Tottenham wish to challenge the front two, then they need to get the season off to a flyer and can’t afford to fall behind early on.
