Robert Lewandowski admits he has a lot of respect for Spurs’ Harry Kane

Bayern Munich and Poland star man Robert Lewandowski has admitted that he respects Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane for the number of goals he scores.

The two strikers are often compared by fans and critics alike in the debate of who is the best striker in the world. and they came head to head on the same pitch in Warsaw on Wednesday night in a World Cup Qualifier between Poland and England.

On the night, Kane put forward his case with a fantastic 30-yard strike to put England ahead but in the dying embers of the game, Lewandowski chipped in a lovely ball to Damian Szymanski who levelled the game at 1-1.

It is no surprise that these two forwards are at the forefront of everyone’s lips when you delve into their stats in their retrospective leagues.

The Polish striker scored an incredible 41 goals in the Bundesliga last season, while the England captain contributed to 37 goals in the Premier League.

Lewandowksi said after the clash that, despite the constant comparison, he has respect for Kane.

He said: “Yeah, for sure [I have respect for Kane].

“I have for every player respect because I know how good they are and also Harry Kane how many goals he scores.”

Kane fully deserves to be mentioned in the same bracket as world-class players like Lewandowksi.

The trophies argument should not come into player comparisons as that is largely due to what is around Kane – the England captain would get into any team in the world and it is obvious as to why he was so desperate to leave in the summer.
