Roberto De Zerbi’s stance on Tottenham has emerged as the club scrambles for answers amid their ongoing relegation battle.

Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to part ways with Igor Tudor after what has been a poor Premier League run under the Croat.

A winless five-game run has done little to ease Spurs’ league struggles, with the Lilywhites now just a single point above the relegation places.

Tottenham are now said to be looking for replacements for Igor Tudor before the Premier League run-in begins.

Tottenham target Roberto De Zerbi has doubts over Spurs move

Roberto De Zerbi has been heavily linked with Spurs in recent weeks. The Italian is currently out of work following a mutual parting from Marseille earlier this year.

But Tottenham are believed to be working to convince De Zerbi to join now, with bonus clauses being discussed.

Football Insider has now revealed that Roberto De Zerbi has doubts about becoming the next Tottenham Hotspur manager.

It is explained that the former Brighton boss is reluctant to take over in the middle of a relegation battle and would prefer to wait until the summer before accepting his next role.

Providing more details on his situation, Pete O’Rourke wrote: “De Zerbi is somebody that obviously Spurs are very much interested in, whether it is now or at the end of the season.

“A lot will depend on Tottenham securing Premier League survival.

“It does seem Tottenham would like De Zerbi to come in now, but he is in no rush right now.

“He would prefer to wait and weigh up his options and probably come into a new job at the end of the season, where he can have a full pre-season with his new club and everything else.

“Obviously he has just left Marseille in February, so he is in no immediate rush to return to the dugout.

“He is one of a number of candidates that Spurs have looked at, but with the situation they find themselves in, it is difficult to attract their top targets.”

Spurs may turn to alternatives as Roberto De Zerbi hesitates

Spurs will now have to turn to an interim manager if De Zerbi is not keen on making a move at this moment.

Tottenham have been linked with several options, including Adi Hutter, Chris Hughton and even Sean Dyche.

The Lilywhites, however, might have been handed another blow, as Dyche recently poured cold water on reports linking him with the Tottenham job.
