Roberto De Zerbi has reflected on the options he has on the right wing for Tottenham’s huge relegation decider against Everton on Sunday, amid widespread Randal Kolo Muani criticism.

The injuries to the likes of Xavi Simons, Mohammed Kudus and Wilson Odobert have meant that the Tottenham boss has had to use Mathys Tel and Randal Kolo Muani on the flanks.

Even though De Zerbi has continued to build up Kolo Muani’s confidence since arriving at Tottenham, the Frenchman has failed to deliver in the business end of the season.

In fact, many Spurs fans do not want to see the France international in a Tottenham shirt again after his poor performance at Stamford Bridge.

Roberto De Zerbi names his options to start on Tottenham’s right flank

The Tottenham boss has insisted that he is not short of players who can play on the right if he decides to make a change to his starting eleven.

He named Lucas Bergvall and Souza as potential options, while also hinting that Tel could be shifted to the right with James Maddison coming into the team.

When asked who he could use on the right against Everton, the Italian told Football.London: “Right wing can play Kolo Muani, can play Bergvall, can play Souza like Liverpool game, can play Djed Spence, can play Mathys Tel in the right side and Maddison on the left side, or Pape Sarr in the left side and Mathys Tel in the right side.

“Kolo Muani can play striker, can play winger and we have to find the solution because we don’t have enough players. When you are not as a number too many, you have to find different solutions for sure.”

Will De Zerbi be tempted to risk James Maddison from the start against Everton?

Speaking after Tottenham’s 2-1 loss to Chelsea, Maddison admitted that it would be catastrophic for his career if he reinjured his ACL.

Meanwhile, De Zerbi, who has brought on the attacking midfielder as a substitute in the last two matches, shared that the Spurs medical staff do not want Maddison playing more than 25 minutes.

However, given what is at stake for Tottenham on Sunday, the Italian may be tempted to include the England international in the starting eleven if the 29-year-old signals that he is ready to start.
