There has been a very interesting update regarding Tottenham youngster Mason Melia as the club attempts to get themselves out of the relegation zone.
Spurs signed Mason Melia from St Patrick’s Athletic for £1.6m plus add-ons back in February of 2025, and he linked up with the Lilywhites during the recent January window after turning 18.
Melia was dealing with a back issue when he arrived at Spurs, and just as he recovered from that problem, the Tottenham youngster picked up a chest infection, which further delayed his return.
The teenager eventually made his debut for Spurs U21s earlier this month, and it took him just three minutes to hit the back of the net.

Mason Melia called up to train with Tottenham first-team
Melia has now played four matches for the U21s, three of which have been starts, and according to Football.London, the Irishman has now been called up to train with the first-team by Roberto De Zerbi.
Spurs are without many of their key attackers at the moment, with Dominic Solanke and Xavi Simons being the latest ones to get injured during the club’s 1-0 win over Wolves.
Ahead of Tottenham’s trip to Villa Park on Sunday, De Zerbi, who is low on attacking numbers, has decided to turn to Melia to make up the numbers.
Despite being just 18 years of age, the forward is not short of experience, having already played 98 senior matches for St Pat’s, across which he has scored 25 times and recorded eight assists.
Roberto De Zerbi cannot turn to Luca Williams-Barnett
Luca Williams-Barnett has been producing outstanding performances at the youth level all season, and many Spurs fans may have wanted to see the 17-year-old given a chance following Xavi Simons’ injury.
However, PA Sports’ George Sessions has confirmed that Williams-Barnett has not fully recovered from his injury yet.
Sessions speculated on whether De Zerbi may decide to take a gamble on academy winger Tynan Thompson, who has scored seven goals in seven UEFA Youth League games this season.
