Rodrigo Bentancur has revealed that he wears the number 30 as a tribute to his mother who passed away when he was quite young.
Bentancur has always worn the number 30 shirt throughout his senior career, having had the same number at Boca Juniors, Juventus and now at Tottenham.
Bentancur dedicates shirt number to his late mother
The Uruguayan has now revealed that it is meant as a tribute to his late mother whose birthday was on the 30th.
The 26-year-old confessed that she was the one who always supported his dream of becoming a footballer from quite a young age and suggested that she is now watching over him from heaven.
