Rodrigo Bentancur’s future at Spurs is not 100 per cent certain this summer – Journalist

The Athletic’s Jack Pitt-Brooke has said that Rodrigo Bentancur is not 100 per cent guaranteed to still be at Tottenham Hotspur next season.

It is clear that Tottenham are planning a major squad revamp this summer as Ange Postecoglou continues to put his own imprint on the side.

Last week, the Spurs boss admitted that some difficult decisions will have to be made this summer, with the club needing to sell some good players and replace them with others who are better fits for his system (Fox Sports).

The Telegraph claimed a few days ago that Tottenham are expected to move on both Richarlison and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg this summer. The outlet further suggested that the Lilywhites would also consider any attractive offer they receive for Yves Bissouma.

Question mark over the future of Bentancur at Spurs

Pitt-Brooke has now also backed up the claim about Richarlison and Bissouma being on the chopping block and he further suggested that Bentancur could also be let go.

The journalist told The View From The Lane: “Yeah so I would say there’s a huge question mark over Bissouma and there’s a medium question mark over Bentancur.

“I know it’s not his fault due to injuries, but he hasn’t looked very good this season. I would say there’s definitely a question mark over Richarlison as well.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I expect both Bentancur and Bissouma to remain at Tottenham next season but I suspect neither will be regular starters. Given Richarlison’s injury woes, Spurs might not want to lose out on an opportunity to make back the full fee they paid for the Brazilian two years ago.
