Fabrizio Romano believes that one Premier League manager is catching Tottenham Hotspur’s eye but suggests that the Lilywhites might struggle to bring him through the door right now.

How long does Ange Postecoglou have at Tottenham?
Over the last few days, several reports have claimed that despite Spurs’ woeful form, their plan is not to part ways with Postecoglou.
However, other outlets have painted a slightly different picture, claiming that the Australian will get the next two matches (against Hoffenheim and Leicester), and needs to turn things around soon if he wants to keep his job.
Meanwhile, some publications have even asserted that Tottenham have already shortlisted potential replacements for Postecoglou, with their list thought to contain two Premier League managers, Andoni Iraola and Thomas Frank.

Fabrizio Romano’s update on Tottenham’s managerial search
Romano believes that Iraola’s work at Bournemouth over the last 18 months would have undoubtedly impressed the Tottenham hierarchy.
The Cherries have considerably outperformed expectations this season, sitting in seventh place in the Premier League table, just two points short of fourth place.
However, Romano claims that Iraola would not be prepared to jump ship from the Vitality Stadium in the middle of the campaign.
The journalist told GiveMeSport: “Andoni Iraola will no doubt be catching Spurs‘ eye with his work at Bournemouth but the Spaniard is highly unlikely to leave the south coast in mid-season and even he can’t magically heal injuries.”

Why Iraola would be a better fit for Spurs than Thomas Frank
Frank has proven himself for a more sustained period than Iraola has, but the latter would offer more tactical continuity than the former.
While Brentford do score a lot of goals, they are not a side that always plays in a high block, which will mean that some members of the Spurs squad might not be particularly good fits for his system.
That is why one suspects that Tottenham will prefer Iraola out of the two, with the Spaniard also arguably having a higher ceiling than the Dane.
Whether or not the North London side are able to bring their top managerial target through the door mid-season would have a big influence on their decision on Postecoglou‘s future.
