Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Fabio Paratici has a good relationship with the representatives of rumoured Tottenham target Houssem Aouar.
Some reports have claimed that Tottenham and Arsenal are competing for Aouar’s signature this summer while Manchester United and Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in the midfielder by other sources.
It has even been rumoured that Spurs have offered Lyon the chance to re-sign Tanguy Ndombele as a part of a deal to bring Aouar to North London but this information has been disputed by some journalists.
Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has said that there is nothing concrete to suggest that Spurs are eyeing a move for Houssem Aouar this summer.
Romano has now backed up Gold’s claim regarding the Lyon star, revealing that there is nothing advanced regarding his sale.
However, the Italian did state the Paratici admires the 23-year-old, having tried to take him to Juventus last summer.
When asked about Tottenham’s rumoured pursuit of Aouar, Romano told Matt Hayes Youtube channel: “Fabio Paratici wanted him at Juventus last summer, he was close. So Paratici always admired Aouar, but at the moment I am told there is nothing advanced.
“For sure Paratici has a good relationship with his agents, they are the same agents of Weston McKennie who signed for Juventus. He is in good relationship with his agency. He knows the player, but for the moment it is not advanced.
“I think Aouar has chances to leave Lyon this summer if the right deal arrives.
“My only question mark is about Champions League football because last summer he said no because he was not convinced about Arsenal opportunity because he wanted Champions League football.”

With Aouar having just two years left on his contract with Lyon, it seems inevitable that the Ligue 1 club will cash in on him this summer if he does not sign a new deal.
Tottenham’s decision on whether or not to move for the 23-year-old might come down to whether Nuno sees the likes of Winks, Lo Celso and Ndombele as being part of his plans.
