Rose reveals what Pochettino will do to Walker-Peters

Tottenham faced a crucial do-or-die match against Barcelona at the Nou Camp on Tuesday, a game that would decide their fate in the Champions League.

Spurs didn’t know it at the time, but a draw would end up being enough to carry them through to the round of 16, as PSV Eindohven held Inter Milan to a draw at the San Siro.

It would have felt like a mountain to climb for the North London club after seven minutes against Barca though, courtesy of a mistake by young Kyle Walker-Peters.

KWP was drafted in just a few days before the fixture as both Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier picked up injuries.

It was a big occasion for the academy player, and by far the biggest game of his short career.

Unfortunately, it all seemed a bit much for the right back early on in the game, as he gave the ball away to Barca’s Dembele on the halfway line and was unable to stop the winger from finding the back of the net.

Rose has now revealed exactly how Pochettino will deal with KWP after such a big mistake.

He said (The Guardian): “The belief he [Pochettino] gives everybody is just amazing. For example, Kyle Walker-Peters made a mistake in Barcelona but it will not affect what the manager thinks of him. He will stick with Kyle no matter what. That’s the sort of man he is: once you win his trust it will take an awful lot to break that. He has been amazing for myself and this club, and we hope he is here for a very long time.”
