Roy Keane makes Tottenham claim after Man Utd’s win over Villa

Roy Keane believes that Tottenham Hotspur will be worried about potentially being caught by Manchester United after the Red Devils overcame Aston Villa on Sunday.

Spurs registered a huge win on Saturday, with Son Heung-min and Brennan Johnson coming off the bench to combine for a stoppage-time winner against Brighton after an extremely hard-fought game in which both sides enjoyed some dominant spells.

The win took Ange Postecoglou’s men back into the top four while Villa slipped back to fifth place following a defeat to Man Utd, with Scott McTominay’s 86th-minute match-winner at Villa Park taking Erik Ten Hag’s men to their third Premier League win a row.

Roy Keane thinks Spurs will be worried about Man United

The Red Devils have potentially brought themselves back into the race for Champions League qualification, with United sitting just six points below Tottenham.

Keane believes that following Sunday’s result, the likes of Spurs and Villa will now be looking nervously over their shoulders and will be worried about the Manchester club hunting them down.

The pundit told Sky Sports (11/02, 18:30): “I think they (Man Utd) have that momentum and the teams ahead of them, particularly Spurs and Villa who they will be hunting down will be worried, absolutely.”

A six-point lead could potentially evaporate quickly and there is no doubt that Man Utd are now back in the race for the top four. However, Ange has made it clear that his side are looking up rather than down, especially now that Spurs have all their key players back.
