Destiny Udogie’s agent has ruled out the possibility of the left wing-back being loaned out again by Tottenham this summer.
Tottenham’s decision to snap up Udogie appears more and more like a masterstroke with each game that the youngster has played for Udinese this season, with the 20-year-old building impressively on his breakthrough campaign last year.
The left wing-back cannot be far away from a call-up to Italy’s senior side if he maintains the same level of performance, with Udinese boss Andrea Sottil telling TMW back in February that the on-loan Spurs man is ready to play for the Azzurri.
90min reported a few days ago that Tottenham have been extremely impressed with the progress that Udogie has made this season.
However, the youngster may wonder how the big changes that are underway at the North London club might affect his future, with Antonio Conte no longer in charge and Fabio Paratici currently taking a leave of absence after being hit with a worldwide ban.
However, the left-back’s agent, Stefano Antonelli, believes that the changes at the top at Spurs will not affect their plans for his client.
When asked if Conte’s departure and the uncertainty over Paratici’s future change the situation for Udogie, Antonelli told TuttoMercatoWeb: “No, for no reason at all. He is a Tottenham asset.
“It’s clear that I hope that positive justice will be done to Paratici.
“We are all used to destruction, but for the good of our football, I hope this thing will be resolved as soon as possible.
“The Tottenham project does not change. Udogie was bought with everyone’s approval and many other professionals have called him important for the club.”
When asked if his client could be loaned out again by Spurs this summer, Antonelli simply responded: “I’m ruling it out now.”
Spurs Web Opinion
I do not how anyone can rule out Udogie being loaned out in the summer without knowing who Tottenham’s next head coach (and potential director of football) is going to be.
The 20-year-old’s predicament will certainly be impacted by whether the next Spurs boss prefers playing with a back four or back three, with the Italian clearly best suited to operating as a wing-back.
