According to reports from TalkSport, Borussia Dortmund are prepared to fight off Spurs for the signing of 23 year old striker Maximilian Philipp.
On the 16th of May, I was able to report that Tottenham had been linked with the forward, who’d scored 9 goals in 24 appearances in the Bundesliga last season, despite picking up 3 different injuries.
Now however, German sports magazine Kicker has revealed that Borussia Dortmund have also developed an interested in the versatile youngster while on the look-out for a replacement for the injured Marco Reus.
The 28 year old German international suffered a partial ligament tear in his knee while playing in the German Cup a few weeks ago and will subsequently miss the start of the next season. As a result, Dortmund may be willing to meet the reported £17.5 million release-clause in Philipp’s contract.
Kicker have also insisted that Tottenham Hotspur and RB Leipzig remain interested in the forward.
