Rumoured Spurs managerial target remains coy about future

Antonio Conte, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar has admitted that he is yet to decide on his future.

Conte has led Inter Milan to their first Scudetto in over a decade, managing to break Juventus’s stranglehold of the Serie A in the process.

Some reports have suggested that the former Chelsea boss could see Tottenham as a viable option if the Inter hierarchy do not meet his transfer demands.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has ruled out Tottenham’s chances of landing the Italian, suggesting that he is not a ‘realistic target’,

Sky Sports’ Michael Bridge has also seconded Gold’s claim, revealing that the Inter Milan boss proposed move to North London ‘won’t happen’.

However, Conte certainly appears to be keeping his options open as he refused to rule out a move away from the San Siro.

When asked about his future, the 50-year-old told Le Iene (via Fabrizio Romano): “I’ll be staying or leaving Inter? Now we enjoy the celebrations, then we’ll meet and decide.

“We will choose the best destiny for Inter.”

If Conte does stay at Inter, we could see a revival of the rivalry between him and Jose Mourinho, who will be taking over as Roma boss in the summer.

However, Conte insisted that he and the former Tottenham boss have put their differences aside.

Regarding Mourinho’s appointment at Inter, he said: “Mourinho returning to Italy is great news.

“Everything has been clarified, there’s only respect between me and Jose.”
