Rumoured Spurs midfield target confirms he has had ‘talks’ with Jose Mourinho

Sami Khedira has admitted that he has been in talks with Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho, as well as Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti, amidst speculation linking him with a move to both clubs.

The 33-year-old has not made a single appearance for Juventus this season and previously admitted in an interview to Sky Sports that he would love to play in the Premier League.

The World Cup winner also admitted in the same interview that he would find it difficult to say no if either Mourinho or Ancelotti wanted to sign him, having played under both managers at Real Madrid.

Football Italia reported last week that, while Tottenham are interested in snapping up the German international, Everton were in pole position to sign him when the transfer window reopens in January.

The report claimed that Juve were desperate to get the midfielder off their wage bill after he rejected compensation to end his contract early.

However, Khedira denied that claim in an interview with German outlet ZDF (as translated by TBR Football), but also reiterated his desire to play in the Premier League.

He is quoted as saying: “There was no offer to terminate the contract. There was no talk of financial issues. If the opportunity arises to move to the Premier League, that’s an option.”

When asked if he has spoken with Mourinho or Ancelotti about a possible reunion, Khedira said: “There are talks and an exchange. We never lost touch after our time together at Real Madrid.”
