Rumoured Spurs target discusses transfer talk

A rumoured Spurs target from their signingless summer has spoken out about his immediate and long-term future.

Wilfred Zaha was the subject of much speculation this summer, linked with a big money move to the likes of Tottenham or Chelsea. Despite interest, the winger stayed put at Crystal Palace, scoring for them during an impressive opening day win.

Zaha has promised to put the transfer speculation to the back of his mind, insisting that now, he is ‘all Palace.’

He said: “It makes no difference to me, because I had my head down anyway. All that stuff was not going to affect me or how the team were playing. Whatever happens, happens.

“I’m all Palace, and you can see that on the pitch all I think about is the team doing well.”

After the £70m speculation, Zaha became Palace’s joint Premier League top scorer this weekend, now tied with Chris Armstrong, and the winger even suggested that a new deal may be on the horizon.

“We are still speaking about [a new contract]. Still negotiating, whatever. Just going to see if we can come to an agreement. The main thing for me is scoring goals.”

Will Zaha sign a new contract? What will the buyout clause be?
