Rumoured Spurs target Noni Madueke opens up on his objectives for this year

PSV Eindhoven winger Noni Madueke, who Tottenham are rumoured to be interested in re-signing, has insisted that he is fully focussed on winning trophies this season amidst the speculation over his future.

Madueke, who was born in Barnett, came through the ranks in the Tottenham academy before moving to PSV in 2018.

The teenager enjoyed a breakthrough season at the Eredivisie club last season, scoring 9 goals and providing 8 assists, and he has continued from where he left off at the start of this campaign.

The Evening Standard reported during the summer transfer window that Tottenham were exploring the possibility of bringing the 19-year-old back to North London.

It was even alleged that scouts from Spurs were in attendance at the Phillips Stadium to watch Madueke in action against Benfica back in August.

However, the Spurs academy graduate has insisted that he remains singularly focused on winning accolades with PSV and improving as a player.

Madueke told BBC Sport: “I focus well on my own objective is. I set really high goals for myself. I write notes about what I want to do.

“I just want to win the league and cup and do as well as we can in the Europa League.

“From an individual standpoint, I just want to improve my level a lot and score lots of goals. That’s really it.”

In Madueke, Marcus Edwards and Luis Binks, Spurs have let some very talented youngsters slip through their grasps over the last few years.

However, we are not the only Premier League club facing such a predicament as the current generation of young English players seem more willing to go to Holland, Germany, etc in order to get first-team football at a younger age.
