Rumoured Spurs target tipped for stardom by Spanish pundit

Eduardo Camavinga has been tipped as having it all in terms of talent by Spanish football expert Julio Maldonado in an interview with Marca.

Tottenham have been linked with Rennes midfielder but the Lilywhites are just one of the many sides reportedly showing interest in the youngster.

“Rennes’ left-footed midfielder has only scored one goal, but what a goal it was against Lyon,” said Maldonado.

“Very good movement of the ball, great recuperator, has the quality to play short, and only 17 years old.”

A report from Spanish outlet, Sport suggests Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona have all shown their interest in the 17-year-old.

“He’s already beginning to appear in the French Under-21s at his age, and he can play on the inside or as a pivot. He has it all,” Maldonado added.

Camavinga may only be 17 years of age, but the young midfielder has appeared 36 times for Rennes this season – 43 in total throughout his short career. (Transfermarkt)

Ligue 1 ended prematurely due to the coronavirus pandemic, however, Camavinga’s efforts helped Rennes seal their first-ever Champions League qualification with a third-placed finish.

According to French outlet Le10 Sport, Real Madrid have shown their interest in the youngster with a bid believed to be worth around £50million.

For many, Camavinga will be an unheard-of name. Having only played one full season in men’s football he must have shown some unbelievable potential to be hit with such a high price-tag and interest from some of the world’s biggest clubs. It seems Spurs will be priced out of any reported interest they have in Camavinga, though.
