Rumoured Spurs target to have Chelsea medical today

Reported Tottenham target Mateo Kovacic is set to have a medical with Chelsea today ahead of a loan move to the Blues, according to Sky Sports News.

Spurs were linked with the Croatian midfielder when it became apparent he was no longer in the plans of Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old went on strike this week in order to try and force a move away from Madrid.

It seems Chelsea will allow their number one goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to leave for Los Blancos giving the Spanish club an incentive to allow Kovacic to leave.

Spurs fans have demanded their club to sign a new midfielder after Mousa Dembele looked set for the exit.

Although Dembele now looks set to stay, Tottenham still have a number of injury-prone midfielders which could do with backup.

However, a move for Kovacic looks dead in the water despite the so-called ‘special relationship’ with Real Madrid with a medical at Chelsea set for later today.

Spurs fans, what do you make of Kovacic and has the club missed a huge opportunity?

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Question, Do chelsea have a scouting team Or do they just pick up the tabloids, see who spurs are scouting and put in a bigger offer or a higher wage offer. Seems to be the way. In my opinion.

  2. I care less about Kovacic than I do about Gealish…and even he is not that “BIG” of deal (I rate Winks higher, especially in terms of work rate).

Spurs have a whole season to analyze what needs to be tweaked and players that should be added/dropped, yet, “they” are still vacillating until the last day (is it just Levy?). This is exactly how they ended up with Sissoko and Aurier, one ineffective and the other implosive in key areas.

Spurs need a CAM to spell Eriksen, especially when he’s unavailable/tired/ineffective. Have they even asked about Hakim Ziyech as he would be perfect to push Christian. If they’re not going to sell Toby, then improve his contract like the others. If they do sell him, Martial should be part of the bargain and Yerry Mina should already be ready to join.

Overall, Spurs always frustrate me at this time of the year!
