Rumoured Spurs target’s agent delivers blow over his next move

Any hopes which Tottenham may have harboured of signing Gent star Jonathan David may have received a blow after the striker’s agent admitted that he would prefer a move to the Bundesliga.

Recruiting striker to serve as a back up to Harry Kane is said to be near the top of Jose Mourinho’s list of priorities in the summer (Football Insider).

The Lilywhites failed to sign a striker in January the decision proved costly after Heung-min Son who has often filled the goalscoring void in Kane’s absence suffered a fractured arm.

David has found the back of the net on twenty-three occasions this season (transfermarkt), and according to The Express, his form has seen both Spurs and Liverpool take an interest in the striker.

Jeunes Footeux claims that Arsenal and Everton are also following the 20-year-old’s progress.

However, the Canadian international’s agent Nick Mavromaras has just thrown cold water on any interest from England in the striker’s services by revealing that the Genk star wants a move to Germany to be his next step.

Speaking to Ruhr Nachrichten, Mavromaras said: “Jonathan is ready for the next step. He wants to join the Bundesliga.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It is clear that all club including Spurs are going to suffer major financial losses as a result of the coronavirus shutdown. We might end up not making any signings at all this summer. Even if we do try and make one or two signings, it is going to be bargain buys of relative unknowns like Jonathan David.
