Rumoured target admits he grew up supporting Spurs

Bristol City starlet Alex Scott who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar has admitted that he grew up supporting the North London club.

Scott is continuing to make waves in the Championship this season and a move to the Premier League could be a possibility for the young midfielder this summer.

The 19-year-old, who has been touted by some to reach the very top of the game, is thought to attracting interest from Spurs ahead of the summer transfer window (GiveMeSport).

However, the Lilywhites could have quite a lot of competition to contend with for Scott’s signature, with the likes of Liverpool (Daily Mail) and Brighton (Alex Crook) also thought to be eyeing a move for the Guernsey-born product..

The Bristol starlet has now seemingly handed Tottenham’s chances a boost by admitting that he supported the club as a boy and also opening up on his relationship with Alfie Devine.

The midfielder told The Guardian: “Alfie Devine, who I now play with for England [Under-20s], is probably one of my closest mates. Being a Spurs fan I remember when he scored against Marine at 16.

“I was watching that with my dad at home and thinking: ‘He’s going to be the next one to come through at Spurs.’ Now I’m best mates with him at England level. That in itself is surreal for me.”

However, Scott decided to keep his cards close to his chest when asked about his next move.

Speaking about the speculation over his future, the teenager remarked: “My friends ask me: ‘Are you going here? Are you going here?’ I just ignore them, basically.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham should certainly make use of the soft spot Scott has for the club to try and snap him up in the summer.

However, the youngster might be wary of making the move to North London, particularly after seeing how the likes of Djed Spence have struggled to get opportunities at N17 since their switch.
