Ryan Mason asked about Dele performance and chances for England squad

Interim Tottenham head coach, Ryan Mason has claimed that Dele Alli put in an excellent number 10 performance against Wolves in the Premier League this afternoon.

Alli was yet again named in the starting line up, with Mason somewhat bringing the midfielder in from the cold after a tough past year under Jose Mourinho.

Dele was a constant creative spark for Spurs in the game and was unlucky not to walk away with a goal or assist to his name.

At one point in the second half, Dele played Kane through on goal with a beautifully weighted pass, with the striker hitting the post and then Dele’s rebound also hitting the woodwork.

Mason was also asked whether Alli could be an outsider to get into the England squad for the Euros but the Spurs coach refused to comment on such a topic.

Instead, he just claimed that Dele was excellent with his effort and skill for Spurs today.

He said (Football London): “I can’t speak in terms of what Gareth is thinking. I don’t know on that but for me Dele was excellent.

“I don’t really like singling out players but it’s hard not to because I’m sure everyone felt it. He ran, he competed, he pressed, he created opportunities.

“I’m sure he’s disappointed not to get a goal himself. It was an excellent number 10 performance, I’m really, really pleased.”
