Ryan Mason bats away question about Mauricio Pochettino and Chelsea

Ryan Mason has batted away questions about Mauricio Pochettino’s proposed move to Chelsea, insisting that his full focus remains on what is happening at Tottenham Hotspur.

Mason is set to take charge of his first league game in over two years, with the 35-year-old handed the reins until the end of the season after the club parted ways with Cristian Stellini.

The former Tottenham midfielder faces the difficult task of trying to get a result against Manchester United tomorrow evening. Away from the pitch, there have also been plenty of developments regarding the managerial situation at Spurs as well as their London rivals Chelsea.

It appears that Mauricio Pochettino, who handed Mason his Tottenham first-team debut and remains a beloved figure among Spurs fans, is set to take over at London rivals Chelsea (Fabrizio Romano).

In fact, reports indicate that Tottenham have not even reached out to the Argentine despite him being on the brink of taking over at Stamford Bridge (Daily Mail), with the Lilywhites thought to focused on bringing Julian Nagelsmann to the club (The Independent).

When asked about Pochettino’s impending move to the Blues, Mason said (via Football.London): “Focus is on inside here. We won’t listen to outside noise. We have to focus on our job and job is to get results on football pitch.”
