Ryan Mason posts message on Instagram from Tottenham’s return to training

Ryan Mason has posted a message on his official Instagram feed on Tottenham’s return to training.

Spurs have been battling with an outbreak of COVID-19 over the last week which has ripped through the first-team squad.

The club’s Premier League trip to Brighton on Sunday was subsequently postponed, while there is still uncertainty surrounding the rescheduling of last Thursday’s cancelled Europa Conference League tie against Rennes.

However, Antonio Conte’s men have slowly started to return to the club’s Hotspur Way training ground this week, with reports stating the Italian will be putting the players available through gruelling double sessions to get them back up to speed.

The news has provided a renewed optimism that Spurs will be able to fulfil their next Premier League fixture against Leicester which is scheduled for Thursday at the King Power Stadium.

Mason, who was drafted into the Spurs backroom team by Conte last month, has since posted a snap of himself engaging in a conversation with the former Inter Milan boss while overseeing the side’s training session.

It is good news that things are slowly starting to operate at Spurs again given just how disruptive the last week has been. However, we have seen just how easily the virus can spread through the squad, so the club needs to be careful with how this is managed going forward.
