Ryan Mason reacts to Kane comments about wanting to play with De Bruyne

Ryan Mason brushed off questions about Harry Kane’s interview with Gary Neville this afternoon in his press conference, claiming that he would also like to play with Kevin De Bruyne.

On The Overlap podcast, Neville asked Kane what one player he would love to play with at this moment in time and the Spurs striker replied with Man City’s De Bruyne.

Kane said: “Oh De Bruyne for sure.

“When I watch De Bruyne play he’s a special, special player and some of the balls I see him put in for City are just a striker’s dream if I’m honest but yeah he’s outstanding.

“You’ve seen him, he’s an outstanding player with the ball, off the ball, pressing, but his delivery is as good as I’ve ever seen, to be honest.”

This comes after Sky Sports reported at the beginning of the week that Kane had told Tottenham he wanted to move on from the club this summer.

Unsurprisingly, Man City have been linked with the Tottenham academy graduate, with Pep Guardiola’s side winning trophies for fun these days.

The Guardian reported that the Citizens are now leading the race for the England captain as he seeks a route out of North London.

Mason claimed that De Bruyne is a fantastic player and added that, after meeting the Belgian playmaker a few times, he is also a great person.

He said (Football London): “In terms of the interview, I know something’s been published but I haven’t seen it because I was out on the training pitch.

“I wasn’t aware of that but I’d like to play with KDB as well. I think every player would. He’s a fantastic player and I’ve spoken to him a few times and he’s an exceptional person.”

He added: “I don’t think anyone wants to finish their career with regrets, any person.”
