Ryan Mason sends message to Jose Mourinho after Roma appointment

Ryan Mason wished Jose Mourinho the best of luck in Italy in his press conference this morning after it was revealed that the Special One will take charge of Roma next season.

Mason also revealed that he had not received any communication from the former Spurs head coach since he parted ways with the club.

The Tottenham academy graduate, who had been serving as the head of player development within the club, was appointed interim head coach until the end of the season when Mourinho was sacked last month.

The Portuguese coach lasted 17 months in North London but ultimately left without a trophy, the first time he has done so in his senior management career.

Mason has taken charge of three Tottenham games thus far, winning two and losing the Carabao Cup Final. However, he does maintain a 100% win record in the Premier League heading into the game against Leeds United tomorrow.

Asked about Mourinho’s new job, Mason said (Jonathan Veal): “(I’ve had) No communication, but good luck to him, I hope he’s a success out in Italy.”
