Ryan Mason sends message to Spurs fans on Twitter after interim boss job finishes

Ryan Mason has taken to Twitter to send a message to Spurs fans following the end of his stint as interim head coach at the North London club.

Mason was put in charge in late April when Jose Mourinho was sacked by Daniel Levy and the Spurs board, but only on a temporary basis until the end of the 2020/21 season.

During that time, Mason had a lot to contend with off and on the pitch, including the race for European football, The European Super League and rumours surrounding Harry Kane’s future.

In the end, Mason at least qualified for the third-tier of European football on the final day of the season, meaning Spurs will play in the Conference League next time around.

He ended with a 4-2 victory over Leicester City, a fitting way to finish his time in charge of his boyhood club.

On Twitter, Mason claimed that he could not have asked for more from the players or fans during his time at the helm.

He said: “Enjoyed leading the team the last few weeks I couldn’t have asked for more from the group of players and we always felt the fans behind us. Thank you for your support.”
