Ryan Mason takes to Twitter to have his say on Son’s red card

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Ryan Mason has taken to Twitter to have his say on Heung-min Son’s red card against Everton.

The South Korean was left in tears following his challenge on Andre Gomes which saw the Everton player appeared to be injured by an awkward fall in between a further tackle by Serge Aurier.

Players from both sides were visibly shaken by the extent of the 26-year-old’s terrible leg injury.

Gomes was taken from the field on a stretcher by medical staff after a number of minutes treatment and subsequently taken to hospital.

The South Korean was at first shown a yellow card by referee Martin Atkinson, after seeing the injury, the card was upgraded to red with the Spurs player leaving the field in tears.

Mason felt that Son should never have been sent off and went on to criticise the involvement of VAR which was once again under the spotlight for a number of incidents including at least three penalty reviews.
