Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Ryan Sessegnon has undergone hamstring surgery following the latest injury setback suffered by the left-sided player.
Sessegnon went under the knife back in Juy to look to rectify his long-standing issue with his left hamstring following an injury sustained during pre-season training.
Tottenham admitted in a statement at the time that they hoped the surgery would provide a permanent solution to the problem.
The player had been working his way back to fitness having returned to training with Ange Postecoglou commenting on his situation prior to the latest injury.
The Australian had recently told Football.London about Sessegnon: “He’s back training, that’s the first thing. Now he’s got to put together a body of work together in training and then we’ll assess it from there.
“This is his first week with us. Like I said, with Sess it’s about getting a body of work together – to give him confidence and us confidence that his body will be good.
“So far this week he’s trained well, done everything that’s been asked of him, and I hope that continues.”

Further hamstring surgery for Ryan Sessegnon
Sessegnon’s latest surgery has been undertaken on his right hamstring in the wake of the injury he sustained on duty with Tottenham’s U21 side last week against their West Ham United counterparts.
The 23-year-old managed just 37 minutes of the fixture when he sustained the issue having picked up the ball in an attacking area on the left-hand side of the pitch and crossed the ball into the penalty area.

Sessegnon’s season is more or less over in the latest cruel blow to any chance the former Fulham man may have had over a late push to force his way into Ange Postecoglou’s first-team squad.
A loan move next season may be the best opportunity for Sessegnon to try and build some trust in any potential club looking to give him the chance to prove his fitness before anyone decides to part with any money on a permanent deal.
