Ryan Sessegnon posts message to fans ahead of return to Tottenham

Ryan Sessegnon has taken to Twitter to send a message to Hoffenheim and the club’s fans as he prepares to return to North London ahead of the new season.

Sessegnon was loaned out to the German club last summer in order to give him a chance to earn more first-team minutes.

Despite the risk of heading to a new country, Sessegnon shone at his on-loan club, playing a mixture of left-back, left-wing and even one game on the right (TransferMarkt).

The young Englishman managed to rack up a total of 29 appearances across all competitions this season, adding two goals and three assists to his game.

This represented a positive growth from last season for Sessegnon, as thanks to injuries and a lack of opportunities, he was only handed six Premier League appearances and 12 games across all competitions (TransferMarkt).

The former Fulham man has now sent his thanks to Hoffenheim, opened up on the experience and added that he hopes to cross paths with them again.

Sessegnon said (Twitter): “I want to take this time to say a big thank you to Hoffenheim for bringing me to Germany.

“To experience a different league and culture and putting me in a situation that has challenged me in many ways as a player and as a person.

“From the people at the top of the club to the coaches, players and back room staff, it has truly been a pleasure to represent this football club.

“Only thing was missing was playing in front of the TSG fans which was unfortunate.

“I wish the club all the best for the future and hopefully I cross paths with many of those who are connected with the club in the near future. Thank you.”
