‘Sackable offence’ – Some Spurs fans react to Tomiyasu’s performance

Daniel Levy took the decision to appoint Fabio Paratici this summer as the man to look to lead Tottenham Hotspur’s activity in the transfer market.

The Italian who had just ended an eleven-year stint at Italian giants Juventus, made the move to North London, having officially taken up the role on July 1st.

While speculation of Harry Kane’s future at Tottenham dominated the summer transfer window, there was one player who was frequently linked with a potential arrival at the club.

Atalanta’s Takehiro Tomiyasu was heavily mooted to have been on Tottenham’s radar this summer with Alasdair Gold claiming early last month that some in Tomiyasu’s camp were confident that the defender would seal a move.

Instead, the Japanese international sealed a move to North London rivals Arsenal and was impressive on the right-hand side of the Gunners defence.

Tottenham’s recent recruit at right-back, Emerson Royal started the game on the bench with Nuno Espirito Santo instead deciding to opt with Japhet Tanganga.

Some fans took to social media to share their thoughts on missing out on a deal for Tomiyasu.
