Absolutely heartbreaking news has been confirmed this afternoon with the passing of Chas Hodges from the legendary Chas and Dave.
The musical duo have iconic status among Tottenham Hotspur fans, who are fellow supporters of our beloved club and are fondly remembered for performing four FA Cup final songs, including Ossie’s Dream and Glory, Glory Tottenham Hotspur.
The statement on Chas and Dave’s Twitter page read: “It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of our very own Chas Hodges.”
The duo’s Twitter account said he recently received treatment for oesophageal cancer but died peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of this morning.
Our thoughts are with Chas’ family, friends and Dave at this sad time.
RIP Chas – you were one of our own.
