Striker bullish about Liverpool’s chances of lifting CL trophy

Tottenham and Liverpool will both take to the field on the 1st of June for what will be one of the biggest games in the recent history of both clubs, as they fight it out for the honour of being crowned champions of Europe.

Liverpool come into the game as favourites having finished 26 points ahead of Spurs in the Premier League but the last meeting between the sides at Anfield was a really tight affair, with Spurs unfortunate to lose the game courtesy of a late own goal from Toby Alderweireld.

With the likes of Harry Kane and Harry Winks both back in training, Mauricio Pochettino’s men will go into the game hopefully with a full squad to choose from.

Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has insisted that their experience of making it to the final last season will hold them in good stead in Madrid.

Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, the Sengalese said, “We have some experience about it and we know how it is because we were there last year and were unlucky we didn’t win, although Real (Madrid) were very good.

“We are feeling really, really positive and for us it would be a big, big thing (to win it).

Mane was confident that Liverpool’s of high pressure matches in recent seasons will help them overcome the Lilywhites.

He added, “Tottenham and ourselves are both really young, but we both have lots of experience and have played every kind of game. It is exciting and we want to win it, for sure – everybody knows.

“We’re not here to think twice about it, we’re just going to go there to try to win it.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Given the season Liverpool have had, they will be under pressure to ensure it doesn’t end trophyless. However, we believe this could work into Tottenham’s hands as the Liverpool players could get nervous if Spurs start well.

Although both teams have displayed their ability to come back from behind in the tournament so far, as with many big games, the first goal will be crucial.
