Said El Mala’s agent speaks after Tottenham and Man United make £35m transfer contact

Tottenham Hotspur have contacted Said El Mala over a January move, and his agent has now set the record straight on his client’s future.

With Brennan Johnson now officially joining Crystal Palace, signing a winger has become an even bigger priority for Tottenham Hotspur than it was a few weeks ago.

One of the names on the Lilywhites’ wishlist is thought to be a young German, who is posting some very impressive numbers in the Bundesliga this term.

It was reported earlier this month that Tottenham had expressed an interest in FC Koln winger Said El Mala, who has nine goal contributions in 15 league outings this term.

Said El Mala’s agent sets record straight after Tottenham contact

SportBILD (as relayed by Sport Witness) claim that El Mala’s agent has been in contact with Spurs, as well as Manchester United and Manchester City, regarding a January transfer.

The report reveals that the teenager’s impressive performances this term have seen his value rise to €40m (£35m).

However, the outlet also spoke to El Mala’s agent, Martin Carmona, who revealed that his client is not looking for an exit route from the club.

Carmona said: “Said feels completely at home in Cologne. Right now, his only focus is on immediately ending the negative trend of the past few weeks in the new year and stabilising the team. A transfer is not on the cards for Said at the moment.”

El Mala could be open to a January move under one condition

Sport Bild goes on to explain that the words of the winger’s agent have not stopped the Premier League trio from exploring a move.

All three clubs are ‘closely monitoring’ El Mala, whose agency continues to be in contact with interested parties.

The German U21 international does not want to leave Koln in January as he feels that he still has unfinished business at the club.

However, it is explained that the teenager would consider an exit this month if Koln were to pursue a sale and if talks become concrete.
