Sampdoria chief puts baseline figure on Spurs-linked Mikkel Damsgaard

Sampdoria chairman, Massimo Ferrero has claimed that the club will only even think about selling Mikkel Damsgaard when his value reaches €50m or £43m.

Damsgaard has been lighting it up this summer in the European Championships with Denmark, who have gone above and beyond to qualify for the quarter-finals.

Spurs were linked with the attacker as early as February this year but have also been linked with him in the summer transfer market too.

Gazzetta Dello Sport have now released quotes from Ferrero claiming that Damsgaard is not currently for sale, while hinting that Sampdoria will only be interested in cashing in for a big fee. He also added that he wants to see the player grow some more first (via Sport Witness).

He said: “I don’t know how much he is worth because he’s not for sale. We’ll think about when his value will have reached €50m. Now, I want him to make him grow some more”.

Spurs Web Opinion:

It appears that Damsgaard will likely be added to the ever-growing list of players Spurs were linked with at bargain prices before waiting too long and no longer being able to afford them. Damsgaard has looked hugely impressive this summer but now too expensive for Tottenham.
