Sanchez Receives Work Permit

According to SkySports, club record signing Davinson Sanchez has received his permit to work in the United Kingdom and is now available to play against Burnley tomorrow.

The 21 year old signed for Spurs earlier in the week for a fee rumoured to be close to £38 million, which smashed Tottenham’s previous biggest buy, the £30 million spent on both Erik Lamela in 2013 and Moussa Sissoko last Summer.

The new number 6 at Spurs had completed his medical and been presented with his shirt, the only thing the Colombian was waiting on was a work permit, which according to SkySports, has come through today.

Now, the youngster is available to potentially make his debut for the club in tomorrow’s ‘must-win’ Wembley date with Burnley, who’ve already toppled one giant away from home this season.

In yesterday’s pre-match conference, Pochettino was asked how the Colombian international would fit into the Spurs side, and that if available, would he feature against Burnley. The Argentine responded:

“You will see. When you have ahead four competitions you need to keep your quality.”

“Last season we were talking, not me, but from other sides saying we need to strengthen our squad and keep the quality in all the competitions and keep the level.”

“I think Sanchez fits perfectly for us and he showed plenty of quality at Ajax. He is so aggressive and so fast and I think you will see what happens in the future.”

“The work permit, we are waiting,” He added. “We’ll see if he can be available to be selected for the weekend. Today he is still not available to be selected. We are waiting, we will see.”

Do you think Sanchez will make his debut tomorrow? If so, will he play in a back three, or is Poch going to experiment with this one?
