Sandro Tonali’s future continues to dominate headlines, with fresh claims now emerging over his preference between Arsenal and Tottenham.

Tottenham Hotspur fans are beginning to feel encouraged as the club finally shows ambition in the transfer market.

Back in the winter window, Spurs managed only the signings of Conor Gallagher and Souza despite battling a major injury crisis.

Supporters were left furious, branding the winter transfer window the worst in the club’s history.

Sandro Tonali prefers Arsenal but remains open to Tottenham

Spurs almost paid the price for their lack of ambition, sliding dangerously close to relegation before Roberto De Zerbi steadied the ship.

The Lilywhites now appear to have learned their lesson, attacking the summer market with intent. Three signings are already secured, and talks continue over further additions, with Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali strongly linked.

Tottenham have tabled an ambitious £80 million bid for Tonali, smashing their transfer record, but Newcastle rejected the offer.

Competition remains fierce, with Manchester City and Arsenal also in the race. According to the Daily Mail, Tonali’s preferred destination would be Arsenal, although it is claimed he remains open to working under fellow Italian De Zerbi.

Spurs wary of Arsenal repeat in transfer battle

Tottenham know all too well what it means to go head-to-head with Arsenal for the same player.

Last summer, both Spurs and Arsenal were in the race for Eberechi Eze, with the Lilywhites initially looking favourites before the Gunners swooped in.

That move eventually collapsed, but Spurs will be desperate to avoid history repeating itself and will hope to get a deal for Tonali across the line quickly.
