Tottenham secured a crucial win over Brighton this afternoon to reduce the gap between themselves and the top four back down to three points.
A reaction was needed after the disappointing performance against Chelsea on Sunday but the Lilywhites started the game quite poorly and were distinctly second best in the first half as they found themselves trailing 1-0 at the interval.
However, Spurs came out for the second half and played at a much higher tempo, which the visitors found hard to deal with. The Lilywhites equalized through a well-taken finish by Harry Kane and continued to go forward in numbers in search for the winner.
It eventually arrived in the 72nd minute as a brilliant team move was finished off beautifully by Dele Alli who struck a lovely volley from a tight angle into the top corner.
Kane along with Moussa Sissoko and Toby Alderweireld took to social media to reveal their delight on securing all three points.

The value of these three points cannot be underestimated as both Chelsea and Arsenal have dropped points today. Besides, it was important that we put the memories of the Chelsea result to bed and we certainly did that with our second-half display. We now need to build on this win and go on a run.
