Sassuolo chief confirms clubs have enquired about Spurs-linked Scamacca

Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali has confirmed that some clubs have made enquiries regarding the availability of rumoured Tottenham target Gianluca Scamacca.

Antonio Conte is thought to be intent on adding another striker to his squad this summer, with the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Gabriel Jesus, Victor Osimhen, Alexander Isak, Darwin Nunez and Patrick Schick said to be on the North London club’s radar (Football.London).

Scamacca is another name that Spurs are said to have their eye on, with The Daily Express previously revealing that the Sassuolo star is ‘appreciated’ by Fabio Paratici, who is eyeing a summer move for the centre-forward.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed an outstanding campaign at the Mapei Stadium, finding the back of the net 16 times in 36 appearances in the Serie A (Transfermarkt).

Over recent days, the Italy international has been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Inter Milan and AC Milan (Football Italia).

Carnevali has now insisted that despite the interest that Scamacca is generating, there is no concrete offer as of yet for the centre forward.

The Sassuolo CEO told Sky Sport Italia (as relayed by Goal.com): “Our desire is to keep most players in the team, and there is nothing concrete for now.

“There have been some contacts with some clubs for Scamacca and others. Perhaps the national team will make the interest grow.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I would be surprised if we went for an out-and-out centre-forward of Scammaca’s profile this summer. I suspect Conte will want to sign a versatile forward like Richarlison or Jesus, who can operate across the front three and is already proven in the Premier League.
