Tottenham Hotspur are wasting little time ahead of the summer transfer window, with fresh reports now suggesting Spurs have reignited their pursuit of Savinho.
Tottenham simply cannot afford another slow transfer window following their disastrous 2025/26 campaign, which nearly ended in relegation to the Championship.
Moves already appear to be progressing behind the scenes, with Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson both expected to complete moves to north London after verbal agreements were reached before the window opened, dependent on Tottenham securing Premier League survival, which they have managed.
Although those deals are set to arrive on free transfers, Spurs are still expected to pursue marquee signings as they look to improve the overall quality of their squad.

Tottenham reopen Savinho transfer talks with Manchester City
According to fresh reports from Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham have now set their eye on their first marquee signing, having reactivated talks to sign Savinho this summer.
Spurs Web previously reported Tottenham’s interest in the Manchester City winger during last summer’s transfer window, with Spurs prepared to spend heavily to secure the Brazilian’s services.
A fee of £70m was reportedly discussed with Manchester City at the time, although Pep Guardiola and his side rejected Tottenham’s approach.
However, following Guardiola’s departure after a decade at the club, Spurs have now reopened discussions after last summer’s deal collapsed when City decided against selling the winger.
Romano shared the latest update on X, revealing that Savinho is open to the move while Newcastle United are also monitoring the situation.
The journalist wrote on X: “Understand Tottenham have now reactivated talks to sign Savinho this summer. Initial discussions underway after last summer deal was on, then collapsed as Man City decided not to sell. Savio, open to the move. Newcastle also monitoring him.”
Savinho could solve Spurs left-wing issue
Savinho would be an excellent addition to the Tottenham squad given his versatility and ability to operate on either flank.
Although primarily used as a right winger, the Brazil international is also capable of playing from the left, which would provide a major boost for Spurs, who are in need of a left-sided winger following the departure of Heung-min Son last summer.
This season, Wilson Odobert and Mathys Tel have both featured on the left side. However, Odobert is recovering from an ACL injury and is not expected back until later in the 2026/27 campaign, while Tel is naturally better suited to a central striking role, meaning Tottenham still need further depth on the left flank.
