Scott McTominay claims he wants to see Jose Mourinho lose at Spurs despite their history

Manchester United man, Scott McTominay certainly didn’t mince his words when talking about his former manager, Jose Mourinho this week.

The Red Devils midfielder claimed that he now wants to see Mourinho lose at Tottenham, such is the footballing world.

Now 24 years old, McTominay was given his first real break in the Manchester United team under Mourinho and has remained in the first-team picture ever since.

Mourinho was in charge of United between 2016 and 2018, with McTominay making his debut appearances for the club on May 7, 2017 (Wikipedia).

Spurs and Man United are not only fighting it out domestically this season but, thanks to the latter’s relegation into the Europa League, they could also come up against each other in Europe. Spurs already dismantled the Red Devils 6-1 in the Premier League this season.

Despite claiming that he and Mourinho got on well in Manchester, McTominay added that he wants his old gaffer to lose in North London.

He said (Stadium Astro): “Me and Jose got on really well. I feel like that is common knowledge now and everyone knows that.

“I’ve got nothing but positive things to say about Jose Mourinho. He’s not my manager at the minute and obviously Ole is amazing as well, so they are two people I’ve got to thank a lot for.

“But he’s the manager of Tottenham, I want him to lose now. That’s the way it is, it’s the dog eat dog world of football.”
