Football scout, Eric Olhats has told El Mundo Deportivo that Lille will ask for around £70m if anyone attempts to sign Sven Botman this summer after Spurs and Liverpool both expressed interest.
Despite selling big-name players over the past two years, Lille have not only stayed afloat in the French league but also could still lift the league title over PSG.
The club are now three points clear of PSG with two games to go in Ligue 1 and Sven Botman has been a huge part of that success in the heart of the defence.
Not only is he a class defender, but he is also left-footed, something that Tottenham have been missing since Jan Vertonghem left the club on a free last summer.
Although Lille signed Botman for a bargain fee last summer, Olhats, who has a reputation for spotting talent across Europe, claims the French club would now demand £70m.
Back in January, Fabrizio Romano reported that both Spurs and Liverpool had expressed an interest in Botman as they looked for central defensive reinforcements.
Sven Botman will certainly be a key player in the summer transfers market, but there’s still no agreement with any English club as of today. “Fake news”, agent Bruinenberg comments. Tottenham and Liverpool were interested in January but he’s never been close to leave Lille. 🔴
