Sean Dyche issues warning to Spurs ahead of Premier League showdown

Tottenham Hotspur have won their last four Premier League fixtures, and added a 3-0 win over German League leaders Borussia Dortmund to their form guide on Wednesday too.

Spurs have been grinding out the results of late in the absence of star striker Harry Kane, midfield man Dele Alli, and a recent lack of left backs.

However, Tottenham may have Harry Kane back in the squad when their next Prem fixture comes around, with the England captain working hard on his early return.

Kane and Alli were both originally given an early March expected return date, but both have undergone warm weather training to pull off potential earlier returns.

With wins against Fulham, Watford, Newcastle and Leicester under their belts in the past few weeks, Spurs will be relishing the next game against Sean Dyche’s Burnley.

Sean Dyche has now warned Spurs that his side will be awkward and difficult to play against, as Spurs looking to chase down league leaders City and Liverpool.

Dyche said (talkSPORT): “We’ve got a tough one next week against Tottenham, who were fantastic last night [in their 3-0 Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund].

“They’re a good team, I like Mauricio Pochettino and everything they do, but in the form we’re in at the moment we’re back to being that really hardy side, and teams find it really awkward and really difficult to play against us.

“So we’ve got to continue that form.”

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Poch knows that the Burnley game is as important as any game we’ve played this season.
And we cannot allow good results against high profile teams to go to our heads, as we did after we
    beat United 3-0 away.
We will be prepared to tough it out against Burnley, but we must not switch off for a second.
It’s a tough ground, and crowd, and the pitch always seems smaller there. They’ve also hit some sort of
decent form and will fancy a result, so we must find the right balance to win.
It could be a game too early for Kane but if we could win ugly again, I’d take that, with the
upcoming games too against Chelsea and Arsenal (with Kane and hopefully Alli being available).
