Season-long loan deal confirmed for Tottenham forward

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed Troy Parrott has joined MK Dons on a season-long loan deal.

The Republic of Ireland international featured for the last night eight minutes of last night’s pre-season friendly fixture at Stadium MK in which Spurs ended up winning 3-1 courtesy of goals Heung-min Son, Dele Alli and Lucas Moura.

The 19-year-old spent the first half of last season on loan at Millwall but failed to hold down a regular first-team place or score a goal in a competitive fixture. His loan deal was ended prematurely in January and he swapped south London for Ipswich in League One.

There are high expectations for Parrott at Tottenham (Football.London) and he will now continue to his first-team footballing education in League One for the season ahead, with MK Dons set to face Championship outfit Bournemouth on Saturday in the first round of the Carabao Cup.

Parrott has been capped six times by Ireland, opening his account for his country with two goals against Andorra in June.

It makes sense for Parrott to head out on loan once more with the likes of Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and arguably, Dane Scarlett ahead of him in Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans.
