Tottenham Hotspur have earlier this evening provided an injury update on their official site for Harry Kane and Dele Alli which has led to some supporters taking to Twitter to share their thoughts on the results.
As many expected, it wasn’t good news for Harry Kane who has suffered ‘significant’ damage to his lateral ankle ligaments. While the club did not put a timeframe on the recovery, he is expected to miss the rest of the season.
Dele was seen clutching his left hand during the 1-0 win against Manchester City and it has been confirmed that he has suffered a fracture which makes him a doubt for Saturday’s Premier League match at home to Huddersfield Town.
To say that Spurs fans are devastated at the news would be an understatement and certainly adds to the pressure of trying to finish in the top four, along with the prospect of facing Manchester City in the second leg of the Champions League quarter final.
Here’s how some Spurs fans reacted.
Please just take my ankles

Put a protective mitt on Dele and get him back in the pitch this weekend.

That ankle ligament will plague Kane for the rest of his career sadly. Rest up and see you 100% in August! #OneOfOurOwn
